DonSplash – Music Career

Cornelius Imoh Johnson, popularly known by his stage name DonSplash, is a Nigerian musician from Nung Oku Ekanem, Onna/Eket Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Born on November 27, 2000, in Uyo, DonSplash’s passion for music began at a young age.

Early Life & Education
DonSplash’s education started at Immaculate Conception Nursery School, where he learned how to read and write. As he progressed, he attended secondary school, where he formed a music group called Artist Cartels, practicing freestyle and songwriting. Though he studied science, his passion was never in the field, he pursued it to understand the psychological strategies of life. He later gained admission to the University of Uyo, but financial challenges forced him to drop out in his second year.

Musical Journey
Music has always been a part of DonSplash’s life. He started in the church choir at The Apostolic Church, Nung Oku Ekanem, where he learned vocal techniques and musical composition. Despite financial struggles, he never gave up. In 2022, he began recording music on his phone using Voloco Music Studio App, leading to the release of his first single, “This Kind Love”. In 2023, he followed up with songs like “Thunder Fire Poverty,” “No Time,” “Pray,” and “Emotion” on Audiomack. Recently, he released his first official single, “Special Love,” on all streaming platforms.

Musical Style & Influences
DonSplash is a versatile artist, drawing inspiration from Afrobeat, Afropop, R&B Pop and Dancehall. His sound is described as infectious cool melody and realms, influenced by Nigerian music legends like Wizkid, Timaya, 2Baba, Olamide, and Burna Boy.

Other Ventures & Future Plans
Apart from music, DonSplash is a skilled barber and fashion enthusiast, offering home services to loyal clients. He also has knowledge of networking configuration. Currently, he is focused on promoting “Special Love” and working on his upcoming EP and album. He is open to collaborations, radio features, and event performances.
