Biography
Oyor Mene, a talented gospel artist, hails from Koko in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. He is a proud freeborn of the Itsekiri ethnic group. Born on ‘June 8, 1996’, into the family of the Late Pa Amuko, 81 Son of Olumu, Oyor was raised in Sapele, Delta State, an urban area that significantly shaped his upbringing.

He is a devout Christian, worshiping at ‘Christ Embassy Central Church’, located at 11 Akintola Road, Sapele. His lineage includes his great-grandfather Amuko, who fathered two sons, Mene and Jame, from different mothers. As the eldest of six children, Oyor inherited a strong sense of responsibility from his father, Mene Omamofe, popularly known as Augustine due to his August birth.

Early Life and Education
Oyor Mene discovered his passion for music at the tender age of 12. Recording on tape during his early days marked the beginning of a journey toward a professional music career.

His educational journey includes attending:

– Christ Foundation Nursery and Primary School (1999)
– Aiyetan Primary School, Sapele (during the Ijaw and Itsekiri crisis in 2002)
– Okotie-Eboh Primary School 1(where he earned his Primary School Leaving Certificate)
– Zik Grammar School (where he completed his JSS3 in 2012)
– Okotie-Eboh Secondary School, Sapele (SS1 to SS3, culminating in his WAEC examination).

Career and Vocational Training
Oyor Mene was a dedicated member of the ‘Scout Association of Nigeria’, holding a Wood Badge as a Messenger of Peace. In 2024, he attended the prestigious Wood Badge course at Edo State Ogba Scout Camp.

His professional journey began humbly as a meat seller in Sapele Market from 2009 to 2014, where he was fondly called “Omawumi” by the market women. After completing secondary school, he transitioned to the electrical/electronics department at the Delta State Vocational Training Center (popularly known as Youth Center), where he honed his technical skills.

In 2017, Oyor secured employment with the ‘Nigerian Navy Engineering College, Sapele’, as a base technician. He worked there until 2022 before resigning to focus on his music and business ventures, striking a balance between his dual passions.

Music Career
Oyor Mene’s musical journey was divinely inspired and supported by his first producer, ‘Uncle Marvis (DANRICH MARVIS of DMS RECORDS)’. Their paths crossed during Oyor’s time at Delta State Youth Resources Learning Center in 2015/2016, where Uncle Marvis, an electrical instructor, recognized his talent. This encounter led to the release of Oyor’s debut hit song, ‘Master Planner’, in 2023—a pivotal moment in his career.

Specializing in gospel music, particularly worship songs, Oyor’s unique lyrical style distinguishes him in the industry. His inspirations include iconic artists like ‘Lucky Dube, Frank Edwards, and Eric Donaldson’, whose influence resonates in his music.

Entrepreneurship and Legacy
Beyond music, Oyor Mene is a skilled technician and businessman, dealing in electrical/electronics appliances. His dedication to hard work and resilience underscores his belief that “hustle must pay.”

With an album already released and ongoing efforts to produce new music, Oyor Mene’s artistry is a testament to his unwavering faith, resilience, and the grace of God. His music continues to inspire, uplift souls, and leave a lasting impact on audiences everywhere.
